The Cool Green Home project continues to be a tremendous success. Our goal was to take 3 area homes and put them on the path to being green every year. This unprecedented project was undertaken in partnership with Sustainable Building Systems and Bitterroot Motors.
The Missoula and Bitterroot community has been striving to become a more sustainable and green for some time. This was the first time that a major media used its power to demonstrate what individual homeowners could do themselves with the help of local experts and suppliers. The Cool Green Home connected local suppliers, vendors and craftsmen with residents that were genuinely interested in moving their homes and family to a greener lifestyle.
We take great pride in making this project as genuine and positive as possible. The advertising messages are positive and emphasized the benefits of living a greener lifestyle.
The contributing sponsors to the Cool Green Home received numerous requests from area homeowners and businesses to assist them in their projects. The Cool Green Home Website has turned into a directory for area residents to find the right suppliers for their projects. The website in many ways have validated businesses that participate in the Cool Green Home as “genuine” green businesses.
The Cool Green Home started out as an idea to educate the public on the benefits of practicing a green lifestyle.
