Community Kindness Project

Missoula is a community that prides itself on helping others in need.  There are many organizations in the area that need our help.  That’s why the Montana Radio Company launched the Community Kindness Project.

Business has changed in the past few years.  Our consumers demand more than just a quality product or service at a fair price.  They want to trust the business as a whole and know that those businesses that give back truly care about our community.  Many businesses make it a practice to support charitable organizations, but they have a difficult time educating their customers and clients as to when and why they give back.  As our businesses improve, so do the area non-profit organizations and in turn our whole community.  The Community Kindness Project is designed to help everyone achieve their goals.

The Community Kindness Project has three primary goals:

  1. Connect businesses that regularly support the areas non-profits with consumers in the marketplace.
  2. Recognize individuals that have left a big “Footprint” in our community for the past year, and reward those individuals for their efforts.
  3. Support area non-profit and charitable organizations in a meaningful way.

In an effort to accomplish the goals, we have divided the Project into two stages:

Stage 1 - The Montana Radio Company with its three powerful stations The Trail 103.3, Fresh 104.5 and Jack 105.9, will highlight businesses and relay to the community the support that these businesses are giving to the local area charitable organizations.  Each participating business sponsor will donate an established amount of money to the organizations during the holidays.  In addition, The Montana Radio Company will reach out to all of the twelve non-profit organizations to encourage them to shop at the businesses that are supporting them during the holiday season.

Stage 2 – It will be announced that we are taking nominations for Community Footprint awards.  These awards will honor those nominees with the most votes and who have had a positive impact on our community.  There will be a separate group of nominations from Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley.  Each award recipient will receive a prize package from the Montana Radio Company.  During the nomination process, each business will have a professionally designed display unit to accept nominations or a section on your own website.

Each year the Community Kindness Project raises thousands of dollars for our local participating non-profits and spreads their message to over 40,000 people every week.
