About

Local Media Owned by Real People —This is No Faceless Corporation

We live here. We’re committed to our Western Montana communities. We’re involved in everything from music and entertainment to events that occur in the daily news. When something happens in the Missoula area, we know. We can turn on a dime and provide an instant, on-air response to rally support for citizens in need.

What does this mean for you? We know our listeners and can help you craft your message to reach them effectively. We’re dedicated to your business success—we know radio advertising and we know how to use it effectively for your business. We create custom advertising packages to work best for you.

Company Philosophy

The Montana Radio Company philosophy is simple:

1.       Provide quality programming that is engaging, upbeat and informative to our listeners.

2.       Assist our advertising clients with achieving their business goals of creating awareness, brand loyalty and increases in revenue.

3.       Contribute compassionate public service through which life in our Western Montana communities will be enriched.

These three pillars are intertwined.

Triple Bottom Line

We operate with a triple bottom line approach. First, in order to stay in business of course it is our responsibility to run smoothly and profitably. We set benchmarks on two other levels as well: How we contribute to our community and how we lessen our impact on our environment. All three of these “bottom lines” are important to us as a company.

  • Business—The Montana Radio Company owns and operates three radio stations in the greater Missoula radio market: Trail 103.3, U 104.5, and 105.9 Jack FM. We live and work by our Company Philosophy to build loyal listeners and advertiser success.
  • Community—We’ve created the Community Kindness Project to:

1.       Connect businesses that regularly support area non-profits with consumers in the marketplace

2.       Recognize and reward individuals who have left a big “footprint” in our community

3.        Support area non-profits and charitable organizations in a meaningful way.

We also support non-profits directly by:

1. Promoting their events

2. Helping them raise money

3. Giving away 300+ hours (that’s 3 weeks!) in 30- and 60-second increments of air time.

  • Environment—To share every day things Montanans can do to contribute to a healthier environment, we created Cool Green Home.   CGH supports local and green choices, shares sustainability tips and offers an annual contest where over $115,000 in home renovations are given to a few lucky Missoula homeowners.
